I am wondering if somehow I have Damaged My Phrenic Nerve?

The phrenic nerves not only have sensory and sympathetic functions, but have a very important function in being the only nerves that control the diaphragm, and hence, breathing. They are also relatively long nerves that travel through areas in the neck and chest that are subject to injury.

Fortunately, newer techniques such as diaphragmatic pacemakers and reconstruction are offering hope.

The two phrenic nerves are the only nerves that control the diaphragm, and thus have a critical role in breathing.

They also have sensory and sympathetic…

I think of perception as a mental grammar and reality as a specific syntax. Thus, phenomena are perceived by the mind. When the mind interprets the perception the resulting apparitions are emotionally appreciated as “reality”. To illustrate this process a random constellation or cloud formation may be perceived and interpreted as a lion or water carrier. To enrich this interpretation, significance is added artificially and arbitrarily. Bingo, we have astrology.

Using the same process, significance such as aesthetics or desirability versus repulsiveness can be seen as contrived significance. This is all curious and perhaps interesting except for the fact that…

Night Terror? Sleep Paralysis? or something more transcendental?

This morning at around 04.06.21 04:21, I had a terrifying dream experience.
I must speak or write before the emotional flavor of my epiphany evaporates. This attempt to share is a sort of Hail Mary attempt; an s.o.s message in a bottle from my deserted island. Because there’s only a tiny likelihood that the full flavor of my panic will resonate with the listener. In this vein, I feel that the painter, Edvard Munch was really doing likewise via his painting, “The Scream”.

Edvard Munch was a Norwegian painter. His best known work, The Scream, has become one of the iconic images of world art.

Why do I bother to share this experience? People…

Israel, the Big Lie

May 14, 2021

Israel is not exercising “the right to defend itself” in the occupied Palestinian territories. It is carrying out mass murder, aided and abetted by the U.S.

Smoke rises following Israeli airstrikes on a building in Gaza City, Thursday, May 13, 2021.

Weary Palestinians are somberly marking the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, as Hamas and Israel traded more rockets and airstrikes and Jewish-Arab violence raged across Israel. [AP Photo/Hatem Moussa]

Nearly all the words and phrases used by the Democrats, Republicans…

THE idea came to Ralph Liedert while he was sweltering in the Californian sunshine, having been standing with his daughter for over an hour in a queue for a ride at Disneyland. What, he thought, if his T-shirt had a cooling system he could switch on, at the tap of a smartphone app, when he needed it. No doubt similar thoughts have crossed the minds of many a parent in such circumstances. They, though, did not have the means to make their dream reality. Mr. …

The Genetic Game Of Chance

If you’re wondering why you don’t look like your siblings, it’s because of genetic differences. Some children inherit a specific genetic trait while others do not, much like a game of chance. If you have 14 children, like Natalie, your various genetic characteristics will most likely be expressed. Natalie adores all of her children and considers herself fortunate that they all have different genes and don’t look alike. Noah and Nariyah, two of her Octuplets, for example, have very different appearances. This is the history of mankind. Different appearances, for this very reason, give the impression of “races”. However, no such thing exists, no matter how extreme the differences appear. That is a scientific fact.
